Short answer: Yes, but in a limited way.

Here is how it works: Connect the security camera to a router (no need for an active Internet connection), then you can access the camera on your phone without Internet, as long as the camera and phone are on the same local network.

I understand that when 'nearby’ the camera can send to the phone, but how does it do so when I am miles away? Does it send to router... and then some software sends to my phone IP? Sorry... don't understand

    • Flora says:

Hi Martin, actually the IP cameras can connect with your phone via the P2P server even when you are miles away. You may refer to this article https://reolink.com/p2p-ip-camera/ for detailed info about how the P2P security camera works. Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions 😀

Is it possible to connect the cameras with 2 or more phone? Can each phone user customise different settings?
I am thinking of situations where both me and my wife want to be alerted, and other when only one of us wants to. I'm considering having a camera on the backyard to notify us if it senses movement during the night or while we're away, and another on the front door so that we can have a view whenever someone rings the bell (but I don't want to be alerted anytime someone comes to my mailbox).

    • Flora says:

Hi Larry, we do not set the upper limit of the amount of the cameras added to the Reolink app. So, you can add as much as Reolink cameras that you have in the rural area to our app and access those cameras remotely while you are away from the rural property. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions. 🙂

    • Flora says:

Hello Kirinya, we don't have any distributors or stores in Uganda. If you want to purchase our security cameras, you may place your order on our official store at AliExpress here, http://bit.ly/2L6zyTD. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    • Flora says:

Sure, Kirinya. All Reolink security cameras feature DIY installation, which allow you to install the camera on your own without spending any installation fees. 🙂

    • Flora says:

Hi. Among Reolink cameras, WiFi cameras and PoE cameras support 24/7 live view via Reolink App, but battery-powered cameras do not, even if kept on a charger.
